Coming to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe directly from Uganda, for 5 nights only, Freedom is the stage adaptation of the original screenplay for the award-winning movie under the same title.

Based on a true story, Freedom tells the story of Amelia, an orphan who was adopted by a childless couple, Susannah and Nsubaga, after her parents were killed in a house fire. Susannah loves Amelia but Nsubaga is a violent man and resents Amelia as a drain on his financial resources. After Susannah dies in suspicious circumstances Amelia's life takes a dramatic change for the worse. Freedom powerfully depicts the themes of domestic violence, sex slavery and misogyny against the harsh economic realities of life in Africa.

Performance Dates:
15th, 16th, 22nd, 23rd, 26th Aug only
